Deandra "Brooksie" Brooks, also a second-generation sorority girl, was born the day before Halloween in Xenia, Ohio.  At age 8, upon learning that Trick-or-Treat was NOT how the world celebrated her birthday, she cried and resolved to always have fabulous birthday celebrations.  That resolve has become a vision for celebrating not only birthdays but time well spent with friends and family -- as well as any other reasons that seem to be a good at the time.

Brooksie attended the American University where she pledged Phi Mu Fraternity for Women her freshman year.   A leader within the chapter, Brooksie served as the Alumnae Relations Chair, Recording Secretary, and Vice President of the Chapter Development Committee.  As an alumna, she supported her sorority in various capacities on the chapter's advisory council.

After graduating with BAs in International Relations and Economics, Brooksie began a career in politics.  Her ability to plan, coordinate and oversee events has been utilized by the U.S. Department of the Army, The Heritage Foundation, California State Assemblyman, and later U.S Congressman, Gary Miller.  In addition, she served as Congressman Miller's Press Secretary and Spokesperson during the 107th Congress. Currently, Brooksie is the Director of Legislative Affairs for a membership organization in DC.

In December of 2001, Morgan and Brooksie founded the Society of Recovering Sorority Girls – AKA – Rho Sigma Gamma.  For four years, their party planning expertise has been utilized by numerous individuals, and together they have co-hosted an average of ten parties a year.  For the past two years, they have distributed a home entertaining column to several print publications and maintained a website sharing their unique philosophy.  In the fall of 2004 they expanded their entertainment lifestyle offerings to include travel pieces, party planning workshops and official “Rho Sigma Gamma” t-shirts.  Recently, Rose and Brooks accepted the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s offer to become monthly columnists.

The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls is an elite organization devoted to a life less ordinary.  Its founders, Kristina "Morgan" Rose and Deandra "Brooksie" Brooks firmly believe in applying many of the principles of collegiate Greek life to improve the leisure activities of young professionals everywhere.
