WASHINGTON, DC – The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls, through
its founders Kristina “Morgan” Rose and Deandra “Brooksie” Brooks, urge American icon, Dick Clark,
Godspeed on his road to recovery and offer moral support to this year’s temporary host of Dick Clark’s New Year’s
Rockin’ Eve, Regis Philbin.
“Dick Clark and New Year’s
Eve just go together,” noted a stunned Morgan. Times Square without Dick Clark on December 31st is like
Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie or the Fourth of July without fireworks.
“Dick,
we’ll miss you at our party this year, but we understand why you must regret.
Just promise to raise your glass at midnight, and in our hearts, you’ll still be with us,” added a teary-eyed
Brooksie.
Dick
Clark has hosted the ABC show for 32 consecutive years. This week, he announced
that Regis Philbin would fill in so that he may recover from a mild stroke. The
2005 Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve will feature performances by Big & Rich, Ciara, Earth, Wind & Fire, Fabolous,
Good Charlotte, Billy Idol, Simple Plan and Ashlee Simpson.
“We’d
also like to let Regis Philbin know that we’ll be cheering for him, and as always, our party will tune in to the show,”
concluded Morgan.
