WASHINGTON, DC - The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls, though its founders, Kristina “Morgan” Rose and Deandra “Brooksie” Brooks urge women in the DC-area to be a fairy godmother this prom season.  In partnership with Arlington Public Schools, the Society of Recovering Sorority Girls launched “Project Cinderella” a formal dress donation drive.

“It’s not too late to be a fairy godmother,” exclaimed Morgan.  “We still have a few more days to go.”

Project Cinderella, a formal dress donation drive, officially ends at 3 PM on Thursday, May 20 when Arlington Public Schools hosts “Formals for Five” at the   Students throughout the district may shop for a formal dress and purchase it by making a $5 donation to the school district’s In Support of Children Fund.“We are very excited to be a part of this event,” stated Brooksie.  “In addition to helping girls make their prom dreams come true, the In Support of Children Fund will also benefit.”

Morgan and Brooksie request that donated dresses be in good condition and dry-cleaned.  Gently used prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and formal wear are all acceptable donations.  All donors will receive income tax receipts from the Arlington County School District.

“Being a fairy godmother has never been easier,” noted Morgan.  “Just dig through your closet and take a look at the formal dresses.  If you are over 25 and still have a dress you wore to a prom, it’s time to say goodbye and let that dress find a new home.  Call or email us, so you too can be a fairy godmother this prom season.”
