January - The Lolli-Pom
1 ounce Grey Goose Vodka
1 ounce Wilderberry Schnapps
1 ounce Mango Pomegranate juice
Combine in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain the martini into the
glass and enjoy Brooksie's contribution to the martini-tasting competition on Founder's Day 2005.
February - French Kiss
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. Chambord
1/2 oz. Creme de Cacao
1/2 oz. Half and half
Combine in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain and serve. Oh la la!
March Cocktail - the Girl Power
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add two ounces of Southern Comfort and fill
the glass with cranberry juice. Squeeze in the juice from the wedge of a lime and toast to the success of yourself or
a sister.
April Cocktail - Sake-tini
Similar to a traditional vodka martini, combine two parts premium sake with one part vodka in a shaker
with ice. Shake, strain and garnish with an olive.
May Cocktail - Black Eyed Susan Punch
In honor of Preakness, Black Eyed Susan Punch is May's Cocktail
(makes 60 drinks)
1 750 milliliter bottle vodka
1 1.5 liter bottle light rum
2 cups Splenda simple syrup (refer to the book if you don't have the recipe)
1 gallon reduced card O.J.
1 gallon pineapple juice
1 750 milliliter bottle of Triple Sec
Mix ingredients in 1/3 batches in a punch bowl surrounded by ice. Adjust
rum and vodka up and down to taste and constitution of your party guests.
June Cocktail - Tiki Surprise
Combine in a cocktail shaker:
4 oz. light rum
2 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. papaya juice
1 tsp. lime juice
1/2 tsp. Splenda
Shake with ice. Serve in a hurricane glass.
July Cocktail - Sex on the Beach
Combine the following in a cocktail shaker:
1 oz. vodka
3/4 oz. Chambord
3/4 oz. peach schnapps
splash of pineapple juice
splash of orange juice
splash of cranberry juice
Shake with ice. Serve in a collins glass.
August Cocktail - The Book Tour Make Do
(invented by Brooksie as a way to cope with the many unknowns in book tour travel)
One airplane sized bottle of vanilla flavored vodka
One large diet soda
Combine the vanilla flavored vodka with the diet soda. Stir with a straw.
Enjoy your cocktail as you wait for your delayed flight.
September Cocktail - The Boilermaker
Because sometimes, football season can be cruel.
1 bottle of beer
1 1/2 ounces of whiskey
Open the beer and pour it into a cold pint glass. Fill a shot glass with whiskey
and gently drop it into the glass of beer.
October Cocktail - Hot Apple Pie
1 part Vanilla Rum 1
part Disaronno 7
parts apple cider
Pour vanilla rum and Disaronno and fill with warm apple cider. Stir well
and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
November - Pumpkin Martini
3 ounces pumpkin liqueur
1 ounce Captain Morgan's Original Spiced Rum
Splash of non-fat half and half
Sprinkle of ground cinnamon
Combine the liqueur, rum, and half and half in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Rim a martini glass with sugar and ground cinnamon. Strain the martini into the glass and enjoy.
December - Eggnog Martini
1 ounce low-fat eggnog
2 ounces vanilla vodka
1 ounce Amaretto
Sprinkle of fresh, ground nutmeg
Combine the eggnog, vodka, and Amaretto in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Strain the martini into the glass, sprinkle with fresh ground nutmeg and enjoy!
