Top Ten Parties to Host in 2008

1.  Start small by planning a special party for two – you and your significant other. Think candles, think finger food, think romance.

2.  Switch gears and plan a Girls Night In to celebrate friendship and relive your slumber party memories.  Be sure to have plenty of spa products on hand or truly indulge by reserving a masseuse for the night.

3.  Surprise!  Give someone special a birthday they’ll never forget with a surprise party.  Enlist the help of a few close confidants to keep the guest of honor away from the party prep.

4.  Why let the good times stop when you can invite people over for an impromptu party.  What’s an impromptu party?  It’s when you offer to move the happy hour or last call back to your home to keep the party going.  Let go of your usual party hang-ups and just do it!

5.  They’ve been there for you since you were born, so host a family event to create new traditions.

6. Go team!  Host a fabulous tailgate and no one will care about the final score.

7.  When properly planned, a good party is a public service.   So why not add an element of service to your event by asking guests to donate non-perishable food items or gently used clothes?  A party with a purpose allows you to socialize and make the world a better place at the same time.

8.  Perfect a new dish and plan a traditional dinner party to show it off.

9.  Why settle for home entertaining when you can plan a destination party?  Whether it’s a road trip or a trek halfway around the world, a different city is your showcase decoration.

10.  Plan a party that celebrates something that is uniquely you.  Whether you transform your living room into your very own personal art gallery opening or recreate your hometown with a barbecue cook-off, your friends will love the party that can only be yours.
