To be a great home entertainer is one thing, but to lead a truly entertaining-based lifestyle is a completely new rung on the achievement ladder. Get into the groove with a spontaneous holiday called Little Black Dress Day, and celebrate it with a Little Black Dress Culture Night. Invite friends for drinks and snacks at your home, then take to the city for a cultural event.

Plan your own celebration in seven easy steps.

Step 1: Select a cultural offering worthy of your attention and a Little Black Dress. Art opening? Playhouse Square? A concert at Severance Hall? Take your pick.

Step 2: Assemble a group of six to eight. Tell everyone the dress plan, and procure payment from your guests. Purchase tickets for the event beforehand.

Step 3: Treat yourself to the perfect new cocktail dress.

Step 4: If your gang is up for it, make reservations at a trendy dining spot for an apres-cultural event meal.

Step 5: If your home is to be the initial gathering place, offer guests a sampling of appetizers (make your own, or pick up something prepared at a local store) and a signature cocktail.

Step 6: Head to your event and enjoy!

Step 7: Enjoy the praise of your friends for your creative approach to "at-home" entertaining.
