Question:
My husband is retiring and I am going to throw him a retirement party I was wondering if I have to invite his grandchildren. My husband and I are renting a house that is to small for me to have the party at, so I am going to have it at a friends house. My Husband has grandchildren from ages 7 - 15. I wasn't sure If I should put no children on the invitation. I am not sure what to do, so if you can help that would be great.

Answer:
I think you need to talk to your husband and his children about this.  Your husband may want his grandchildren to be a part of the celebration. In the alternative, since space constraints are an issue, you may want to consider doing a special celebration for family only (perhaps one of his children would agree to host?) and then a "no children" type party for former colleagues and acquaintances.

Sometimes it's easier to coordinate the menu, decorations, and logistics compared to balancing intricate family dynamics.

Good luck!
