WASHINGTON, DC – The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls, through its founders
Kristina "Morgan" Rose and Deandra "Brooksie" Brooks remind women everywhere to make history during women’s history
month. The U.S. Congress has recognized the month of March as women’s history month since 1987.
"There’s only a week left!" urged Morgan. "If you don’t already have
plans to make history this month, you need to form a strategy immediately!"
Taking their cue from the National Women’s
History Project, Morgan and Brooksie chose activities which support the theme "Women Inspiring Hope and Possibility." Both
Morgan and Brooksie spent significant time cleaning out their closets to support two philanthropic projects designed to inspire
hope and possibility in other women – Suited for Change and Project Cinderella.
"There are all kinds of ways
you can make history," explained Brooksie. "Just look around your local community and a find a need that you can fit into
your schedule. Something as easy as donating blood or your old clothes may be the new beginning for someone else."
Morgan
and Brooksie also encourage women to make and preserve their own personal history this month. March is also National Craft
Month, making it an ideal opportunity to preserve personal history through scrap booking.
"My personal contribution
to history is the new diet cocktail I made with Splenda," proclaimed Morgan.
"I’ve been busy planning a bachelorette party every one will remember," added
Brooksie.
Morgan and Brooksie offer more suggestions on how women can make history during Women’s History Month
in the Society of Recovering Sorority Girls’ virtual chapter room at www.recoveringsororitygirls.com.
